Solution Architect – Dynamics365 Business Central

The Solution Architect (SA) plays a key role in defining, validating, and governing the overall Business Central (BC) solution architecture for our finance and operations transformation. This position ensures that the system design, financial processes, and integration logic (Bank, Middleware API, PowerApps) align with both business goals and Microsoft best practices. The SA acts as the bridge between Business Analysts (BA), Developers, and Finance stakeholders, ensuring all deliverables are consistent, scalable, and auditable.

Working hours: Part-time – approximately 4 hours per day during regular office hours (Mon-Fri)

Key Responsibilities

• 1. 1. Solution Architecture & System Design
     – Design and maintain the end-to-end D365 Business Central solution blueprint, covering Finance, Procurement, and Banking modules
     – Define and validate custom extensions, data models, and posting logic (e.g., auto-creation of Payment Journals, MT940 import, auto-matching)
     – Oversee integration design with external systems:
     + Bank IDEAL via Middleware API and SFTP
     + PowerApps / Power Automate for approval and reporting flows
     – Configure and review Job Queues (e.g., Refresh MT940 Summary), Codeunits, and automated processes
     – Ensure adherence to Microsoft BC development standards and project governance
  2. 2. Finance Domain Alignment
     – Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure BC configuration supports business rules for: 
     + Accounts Payable (AP) – payment journal and vendor settlement
     + Accounts Receivable (AR) – customer receipts and application
     + General Ledger (GL) – balancing entries and audit trail
     + Bank Reconciliation – MT940 statement import, matching, and posting
     – Validate mapping of Bank payment types (GIRO, FAST, TT, etc.) to BC Payment Methods
     – Ensure financial accuracy across postings: fees, interest, and FX handling
     – Support reconciliation automation and ensure all journal entries link correctly to bank lines.
  3. 3. Review, Quality, and Governance
     – Review all FRD and TDD deliverables for completeness and alignment with system capabilities
     – Validate data flow between BC → Middleware → Bank → MT940 return
     – Conduct regular design walkthroughs with BA and DEV teams
     – Ensure security, role permissions, and audit logging are properly configured
     – Provide technical guidance during UAT, deployment, and post-go-live support

Requirements

• • From 4 years of experience in the same position, with proven experience in Dynamics 365 Business Central
